Who is Lixu rubber ?

Lixu Rubber is a professional manufacturer specializing in the production of rubber molded products. Our main products include rubber O-rings, rubber gaskets, and various customized rubber parts. We have two sets of rubber internal mixers and eight sets of automated rubber product vulcanizing machines, which can process molded rubber products with a maximum size of 600X600MM, providing a solid foundation to offer various sizes of rubber products.

Our rubber product production process mainly involves compression molding technology. The rubber compression molding process is mainly used to produce various rubber products, including sealing rings, gaskets, protective sleeves, sealing plugs, grommets, oil seals, rubber sleeves, insulation sleeves, sealing plugs, and other non-standard rubber parts.
These products are widely used in fields such as industry and agriculture, transportation, electrical and chemical engineering, construction machinery, and daily necessities.
 

What is rubber molding process ?

Rubber molding process is an important molding technology widely used in the production of rubber products. It involves placing pre mixed rubber materials into a designed mold, allowing the rubber material to flow and fill the mold cavity under high temperature and pressure conditions. After cooling and curing, the required shape and size of rubber products are obtained.
 

What are the basic steps of rubber molding process?

The molding process of rubber products is mainly divided into preparation stage, molding stage, and post-processing stage, each of which directly affects the quality of the finished product and production efficiency. 
The specific and detailed steps are as follows:
 

>> Preparation of rubber materials

 
-Formula design: Select suitable rubber substrates (such as nbr rubber, epdm rubber, silicone rubber, etc.) according to product requirements, and add necessary fillers, plasticizers, vulcanizing agents, and other additives to develop precise formulas.
-Mixing: Mix rubber raw materials and additives evenly in an internal mixer or open mixer to form a rubber compound with good plasticity. This process requires strict control of temperature and time to ensure the quality of the mixed rubber.
 

>> Mold design and manufacturing

 
-Design: Design the mold according to the product drawings, including details such as cavity size, parting surface, exhaust hole, etc., to ensure that the mold can meet the requirements of product accuracy and appearance.
-Material selection: Mold materials should have good heat resistance, wear resistance, and strength. Common materials include steel, aluminum alloys, etc.
-Processing and assembly: Mold production is completed through mechanical processing and precision assembly, ensuring smooth opening and closing of the mold and accurate cavity dimensions.
 

>> Pre molding (optional)

 
For some complex or large products, It may be necessary to pre form the mixed rubber before molding, such as pressing tablets, strips, etc., in order to facilitate subsequent placement into the mold.
 

>> Compression molding

 
-Loading: Place the weighed rubber blocks into a preheated mold at the appropriate temperature.
-Mold closing: Quickly close the mold by applying sufficient pressure to fill the mold cavity with rubber material.
-Sulfurization: Under set temperature and time conditions, a vulcanization reaction is carried out to crosslink rubber molecular chains and form a stable structure. The vulcanization temperature and time are determined according to the type of rubber and product requirements.
-Exhaust: During the vulcanization process, Timely exhaust is necessary to avoid the formation of bubbles inside the product.
 

>> Post processing

 
-Mold opening and retrieval: After vulcanization is completed, wait for the mold to cool to a safe temperature before opening the mold and retrieving the product.
-Trimming: Remove burrs and burrs from the edges of the product, and if necessary, polish or cut to achieve the final size and appearance requirements.
-Inspection: Conduct quality inspection on products, including size measurement, appearance inspection, performance testing, etc., to ensure that product quality meets standards.
Precautions:
-Temperature control: The mold temperature and vulcanization temperature need to be precisely controlled. Excessive temperature may cause the product to burn, while insufficient temperature may result in incomplete vulcanization.
-Pressure management: Appropriate pressure helps to evenly fill the mold with rubber material and avoid defects.
-Time management: The vulcanization time directly affects the physical properties and appearance of the product, and strict adherence to process requirements is required.
-Safety and Environmental Protection: Pay attention to personal protection during operation and avoid contact with harmful substances; At the same time, waste materials need to be properly disposed of to meet environmental protection requirements.

High cost-effectiveness: The molding process is an efficient way to produce a large number of components without the need for expensive equipment
Customization and Precision: Components of any size, design, or detail can be customized according to requirements
Wide selection of rubber materials: suitable for various rubber materials, such as silicone rubber, nitrile rubber, fluorine rubber, natural rubber, etc
Less material waste and environmentally friendly: molds can be reused with low energy consumption, making them more environmentally friendly
Suitable for both large and small items: capable of manufacturing small and delicate parts, as well as large and sturdy rubber components
 

>> Disadvantages

 
Product length limitation: Usually only lengths less than 600 millimeters can be made
Limited product range: The molding process is rarely able to complete complex and large-sized rubber products, such as suspension systems for automobiles and rubber casings for electronic appliances
