Rubber-
Neoprene rubber, also know as CR rubber, is a polymer of 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene through lotion polymerization, which is a kind of synthetic rubber. It has good physical and mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength, elongation, reversible crystallinity, good adhesion, oil resistance, heat resistance, flame resistance, sunlight resistance, ozone resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and chemical reagent resistance.

Its heat resistance is comparable to nitrile rubber, with a decomposition temperature between 230~260 ℃. It can withstand 120~150 ℃ in the short term and can be used for a long time at 80~100 ℃, and has a certain degree of flame retardancy. Oil resistance is second only to nitrile rubber, and it has good resistance to inorganic acids and alkali corrosion. In addition, chloroprene rubber also has certain aging resistance and weather resistance.

Chloroprene rubber also has some drawbacks, such as poor cold resistance and electrical insulation, poor storage stability of raw rubber, and the occurrence of "self sulfuration" phenomenon, which leads to an increase in Mooney viscosity and hardening of raw rubber.

Chloroprene rubber is mainly used in the manufacturing of various industrial products, automotive components, wire and cable sheaths, adhesives, and various latex products.
Specifically, it includes transmission belts, transport belts, wires and cables, oil resistant rubber plates, oil resistant rubber hoses, sealing materials, cable sheaths, rubber seals, adhesives, oil resistant rubber boots, air ducts, raincoats, tent covers, etc. In addition, chloroprene rubber can also be used in industries such as printing, dyeing, and papermaking, and is widely used in diving suits.
The performance characteristics of chloroprene rubber mainly include the following aspects:
Cold resistance and low temperature resistance: By introducing dichlorobutadiene molecular branches into the main chain of ordinary chloroprene rubber, the hardness and tensile stress of chloroprene rubber at low temperatures can be reduced, and its elasticity can be improved, making it still have good cold resistance at extreme low temperatures of -50 to -55 ℃.
Physical and mechanical properties: chloroprene rubber has good physical and mechanical properties, including high tensile strength, elongation, and reversible crystallinity. It has good adhesion, aging resistance, heat resistance, flame resistance, sunlight resistance, ozone resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and chemical reagent resistance.
Aging resistance: Due to the electron withdrawing and shielding effects of chlorine atoms, chloroprene rubber has superior aging resistance, especially in terms of weather aging and ozone aging resistance, second only to ethylene propylene rubber and butyl rubber.
Heat resistance: chloroprene rubber still has certain toughness and elasticity at high temperatures, and can be used for a long time at 80-100 ℃, and can withstand high temperatures of 120-150 ℃ in the short term
Oil resistance and chemical stability: chloroprene rubber has good oil resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. It also has good resistance to chemical reagents and can resist the erosion of various chemical substances
Processing performance: chloroprene rubber can be molded and vulcanized, suitable for various industrial applications. In addition, it also has good compatibility and can be mixed with materials such as natural rubber, butadiene rubber, and styrene butadiene rubber

>> NBR Material

o-
Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) is a copolymer obtained by polymerizing butadiene and acrylonitrile monomers. This material has been widely used in many industrial fields due to its unique chemical structure and physical properties. It’s Lixu rubber’s main and most advantage rubber sealing products range.

The appearance of nitrile rubber is usually a gray white to light yellow block solid with a relative density of 0.95 to 1.0. The strong polar CN groups contained in its molecular structure endow it with excellent oil resistance.
Oil resistance is nitrile rubber’s outstanding advantage comparing with other rubber materials. Its oil resistance is second only to polysulfide rubber and fluororubber.
This rubber also has high stability against non-polar or weakly polar oils and organic solvents, The higher the content of acrylonitrile, the better the oil resistance of nitrile rubber.
In addition to oil resistance, nitrile rubber also has good heat resistance. Its heat resistance is superior to natural rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, and chloroprene rubber. It can be used for up to 100 degrees Celsius for a long time, and can even be used for 40 days at 120 degrees Celsius. However, the cold resistance of nitrile rubber is relatively poor, and the higher the acrylonitrile content, the worse the cold resistance. So if any applications demand low temperature, Nitrile rubber should not be a wise choice !

In terms of physical and mechanical properties, nitrile rubber has high tensile strength, hardness, and wear resistance. These properties make nitrile rubber an ideal material for manufacturing oil resistant gaskets, washers, rubber hoses, aircraft fuel tanks, flexible packaging, printing and dyeing rollers, cable materials, adhesives, and other products. In addition, nitrile rubber has good air tightness, second only to butyl rubber.

The processing performance of nitrile rubber is good. Although it has strong polarity and poor compatibility with polymers with weak polarity, it has good compatibility with highly polar polymers such as chloroprene rubber, modified phenolic resin, and polyvinyl chloride. In order to improve processing performance, nitrile rubber is often shared with non-polar rubber such as natural rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, and butadiene rubber.

Considering its applications, Nitrile rubber has a wide range of applications expeciallu in automotive industry because of its excellet oil resistance capacity. In the automotive industry, It is commonly used to manufacture components such as gaskets, oil seals, O-rings, engine hoses, etc. In the printing industry, nitrile rubber is used to manufacture rollers for spreading ink. In addition, it is widely used in aerospace, textiles, personal protective equipment (such as nitrile safety gloves), as well as shoes, floor mats, sponges, and many molded products.

Overall, nitrile rubber has become an indispensable material in the industrial field due to its excellent oil resistance, heat resistance, physical and mechanical properties, and wide range of applications.
