Description:
NBR, also known as Nitrile or Buna-N, is made of nitrile rubber material, with excellent oil resistance, heat resistance, wear resistance and other characteristics, can maintain stable sealing performance in a variety of harsh working environments. It is suitable for use in petroleum hydraulic oil, glycol hydraulic oil, diester lubricating oil, gasoline, water, silicone grease, silicone oil and other medium. It’s not suitable for use in polar solvents such as ketones, ozone, nitrohydrocarbons, MEK and chloroform. The general use temperature range is -40~120 ℃. This material offers excellent sealing capabilities at a very low cost.
Features:
Advantages:
Low Cost: nitrile butadiene rubber offers the lowest cost among various rubber materials, which makes it have obvious advantages in terms of costs.
Oil resistance: The oil resistance of nitrile rubber is second only to polysulfide rubber and fluorine rubber, making it an ideal choice for making oil resistant products.
Wear resistance and air tightness: Nitrile butadiene rubber also has good wear resistance and air tightness, suitable for applications requiring high wear resistance and sealing properties.
Heat and aging resistance: The heat resistance of nitrile rubber is better than that of styrene butadiene rubber and neoprene rubber, and can work at 120℃ for a long time and have excellent aging properties.
Good sealing performance: Because of its good elasticity and deformation ability, nitrile rubber O-ring can adapt to different sealing surface shapes and have high sealing performance.
Disadvantages:
Not sensitive for Ozone and certain solvents: NBR is not resistant to ozone and aromatic, halogenated hydrocarbons, ketones and ester solvents, which limits its use in some specific environments.
Low electrical insulation: nitrile butadiene rubber has low electrical insulation performance and is not suitable for use as insulation material.
Limited low temperature: Standard NBR is resistant to -30C, while special formulations are resistant to -40 C, which may be a limiting factor in extreme low temperatures.
